Notice of Proposed Action COMAR 14.09.05 Vocational Rehabilitation
Practitioners
The Workers' Compensation Commission proposes to: (1) Repeal
Regulation .20 under COMAR 14.09.01 Procedural Regulations; and (2)
Amend Regulations .01 and .04'.07 and adopt new Regulations .08'.12
under COMAR 14.09.05 Vocational Rehabilitation Practitioners. The
purpose of this action is to clarify the procedures for obtaining
vocational rehabilitation services, and the standards of practice
for vocational rehabilitation service practitioners.
A public hearing has not been scheduled. Final action on the
proposal will be considered by Workers' Compensation Commission
during a public meeting to be held on March 25, 2009 at 9:00 a.m.,
at 10 E. Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.

Emergency Amendments to COMAR 14.09.01: Regulations .01 and .19
concerning compliance with the guidelines issued by the Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services with regard to the settlement of
future medical benefits are effective January 4, 2010.

Updated Notice/form - the Notification to Insurer for Contesting
Claim C40D/C40R is updated; claimant Social Security numbers are not
displayed on the form. The C40 is not a conventional form but
a Notice from the Commission requesting a response from the insurer
in a claim. The outgoing Notice and WebForm are included; the
response also requires the provision of the adjuster's contact
information where indicated. |
Hearings in La Plata and Beltsville are canceled due to inclement
weather. |
