| December 16 | On October 9, 2003, the Workers' Compensation Commission proposed Regulations .01-.16 under COMAR 14.09.09 (Public Information Act). This action was taken at a public meeting, notice of which was given by publication pursuant to State Government Article 10-506, Annotated Code of Maryland. Proposed Regulations were posted in the 12/12/2003 issue of the Maryland Register.

Workers' Compensation Appeals is updated. | December 9 | Governor Ehrlich has declared the day after Christmas, December 26, 2003 a legal holiday for State employees. Therefore, Commission offices will be closed Thursday & Friday, December 25 & 26, 2003. Commission offices will re-open at 8 a.m. Monday, December 29th. Our Offices will also be closed on New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1, 2004 but will be open on Friday, January 2, 2004. | | December 8 | The Commission is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Virginia Barnes. Ms. Barnes was employed with the State of Maryland beginning September 21, 1945. She retired as Secretary and Director of Administration of the Workers' Compensation Commission on July 1, 1985 and passed away on December 4, 2003. The Commission's condolences go out to Ms. Barnes' family. | | All Commission dockets scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2003 are cancelled EXCEPT HYATTSVILLE due to weather/travel conditions. As stated in the Weather Related Info page and June 2003 Notices, Commission Offices are staffed unless the Governor announces State government offices are closed. | |
