R. Karl Aumann, Chairman of the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission, has been chosen by the Southern Association of Workers' Compensation Administrators ('SAWCA') to be its new Vice President.  Mr. Aumann was elected to this position at SAWCA's 2008 All Committee Conference held last week in Naples, Florida.

'SAWCA is a great organization and I look forward to contributing in a small way to its future success' Aumann said.

SAWCA was formed in 1949 and is comprised of members from 19 jurisdictions, including the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.  Its mission is to make available and present instruction by means of forums, lectures, meetings, and written material regarding the administration of workers' compensation laws and to provide an avenue by which those interested in workers' compensation may interact with one another to share information and address issues common to the jurisdictions that are members of the association.
