26 On August 21, 2014 the Maryland Insurance Administration approved an overall average workers' compensation voluntary market loss cost level change of -2.7% to become effective January 1, 2015.

4 Prescription Drug Study
On June 5, 2014, the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission (Commission) notified self-insured employers and self-insured groups that it is undertaking a comprehensive study to ascertain the actual costs associated with prescription drugs. The periods covered by this study are the following service years: 1/1/11-12/31/11, 1/1/12-12/31/12 and 1/1/13-12/31/13. The Commission has developed an online reporting tool that will be available beginning July 31, 2014. All data must be reported by all self-insured employers and self-insured groups by August 7, 2014. If reporting parties have questions, please contact Steven Jones via email or telephone 410-864-5298.  Technical questions only are sent to our Websupport team via email.

  NCCI's Maryland State Advisory Forum will be held at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore-Inner Harbor, 300 Light Street (410-528-1234) on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. A continental breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. This year NCCI will continue to focus on state-specific information and plan to speak in greater detail on state system cost drivers; proposed/enacted state and federal legislation; and NCCI studies and economic information.
