The Commission is closed Monday, September 3, 2007 in observance of Labor Day.  No telephone or email support is available.
We will open for business at 8am on Tuesday, September 4, 2007.

August 28The 23rd Annual Maryland Workers' Compensation Educational Association Conference in Ocean City, Maryland September 23 - 26, 2007.  Please visit the Association's web page for the conference agenda, presentations and details.

NCCI's Maryland State Advisory Forum will be held at the Tremont Plaza Hotel on St. Paul Place on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. A continental breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m.   This year will continue to focus on state-specific information and plan to speak in greater detail on: Proposed/enacted legislation, State system cost drivers, Comparison of state versus national results, Research and economic studies

August 24

The Commission regrets to announce the sudden death of longtime employee Clinton Gregory.  Mr. Gregory has well-served the workers' compensation community in our Document Preparation Section for many years.  Arrangements are as below:

August 10The Commission's web will be unavailable Monday, August 13, 2007 beginning at 3:30 p.m. for required network upgrades and maintenance.  Duration is expected to be one hour.  We apologize for the inconvenience and urge all to plan accordingly.

New construction around our Abingdon Regional Hearing Site may cause delays or inconvenience.  On Friday, August 10, 2007, there is road construction at the Abingdon Regional Hearing site located in the Box Hill Corporate Center. Use use the second or bottom entrance to Suite 3465 as the first entrance to the parking lot will be closed.  Please allow additional travel time for arrival at our Abingdon site.  Construction should be complete prior to Monday,  August 13th hearings.

August 8Attention Practitioners/Insurers:  In the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission's  continuing effort to improve its process efficiencies and reduce its environmental and fiscal impact the Commission will no longer provide a "pink" envelope for the return of the completed C40 response.  Implementation of the WCC's automated processing capabilities, has rendered the "pink" envelope obsolete.  Therefore, effective September 1, 2007, the Commission will no longer provide the "pink" return envelope in the mailing of the notice of an employee's claim.  Questions, comments or concerns may be directed to Neshera Jarrett at 410.864.5288.
